Hardest week of my life

So I have had one of the hardest weeks of my life. It has been a whirlwind of emotions. On April 21 we went to the doctor for our first appointment which we had been atticipating for a long time. We were able to see the ultrasound of our little "butterball" but unfortunatly there was no heartbeat. That was the most devistating news we could have heard. I felt like I was in a movie or something. That first night was especially difficult because it was our 3rd anniversary. I had had the brilliant idea to schedule it on the same day to make it extra special. Unfortunalty it was exactly the opposite. We were still able to go out to eat and enjoy the evening as much as possible. The next day we went to another doctor just for a second opinion. There was still no heartbeat so we prepared for a procedure to make things less painful for me. The doctor said that there was probably something wrong genetically with the baby and this happens in about 20% of pregnancies. Thankfully we got pregnant pretty fast the first time around and as the doctor told Jeremy, "Her anatomy looks good". So he said that in a month or 2 we should be good to go. Now we are just praying for a healthy baby.
Healing physically was much easier that emotionally but through all of this I have been trying to stay on the bright side. At least I won't be pregnant in the summer. I have also realized what a wonderful support system I have. With it being our 3rd anniversary, this whole experience has reminded me why I married Jeremy. He is the most supportive, sweet, caring, wonderful, amazing, thoughtful husband ever!!! He is so perfect for me and I realize that more and more everyday. We also have an amazing family and group of friends. I wouldn't change telling everyone we were pregnant right away because we were able to celebrate and be excited about the baby God gave us. For some reason it was not meant to be and we were able to be surrounded by everyone that loves us. It has made this situation so much easier to deal with. I definatly thank God for each person in my life and I know He has the best plan for us, we just have to be patient.

Kate's First Birthday

So Kate turned 1 on Saturday. She is getting so big and has such a personality. Here are a couple of my favorites with her little expressions.

My first taste of cake
Yeah I'm cute
"WOW" (and its so funny cause she really says it so dramatically)

Don't Touch my Food!!

My first "Don't touch my Food" incident has already happened. Jeremy and I went to go look at houses. I brought snacks so I was prepared. At the last house I turned to Jeremy and Lee and said, you have about 10 minutes to get me to food. So we went to Panda Express. Now Jeremy and I usually split the 3 item combo because there is a ton of food. This time I warned him ahead of time and said I was getting my own. You would have thought he might get the idea. Well he did eat a piece of chicken since we ordered different things, fine. So I had 3 pieces left and i was still hungry. He goes to take another one, which happens to be the biggest one I was saving. I look at him and said don't even think about it. He just looked at me like I was crazy. Lee just started laughing and told him it was only the beginning. Hopefully that hunger doesn't come back, it was only a couple of days.

7 weeks

So today I am exactly 7 weeks. 2 weeks until we get to hear the heartbeat of our little butterball. Its kind of cool it will be on our 3rd Anniversary. Nothing could be a better present this year.

So far I feel pretty good. There have been a couple of days that I get more tired than usual. Those are usually the ones when I got up 3 times the night before to go to the bathroom. P.S. My kidneys work just fine!!! There are definately days that I get super hungry. I am also super bloated which is not my favorite by far!!!

Here is week 4 -7

The Big Announcement

So I believe its time to start a blog. With the news we have started to share, I can't believe how many people asked if I was going to start a blog about it. I guess it seems right, most other people started when they found out the same exciting news, so here goes. Let's see if I am any good at this.

So if you haven't heard, Baby Johnson will be making his or her appearance later this year around November 24, 2010. I have been telling people the last 24 hours but its still seems so surreal to me. So here is the story thus far.
My favorite Christmas present last year was my wonderful husband telling me he was ready to start a family. I was so excited but I couldn't share with anyone because we wanted to keep it a secret. So the last 2 months with not luck, I had told myself I wasn't pregnant again this month so I wouldn't be disappointed. I decided to take a test to so I would know for sure and not wait anxiously just wondering. So I took the test and made myself do the dishes before I read the results. When I leaned over to read it, I couldn't believe what I saw. I screamed paced around the house and decided to go buy another test to be sure. Lo a behold that one was the same result.
So the next 3 hours we agonizing as I waited for Jeremy to get off work. I played it cool and asked him if he wanted to go Pei Wei for dinner. He was a bit surprised because I never suggest Chinese but went with it because it is his favorite food. I chose Pei Wei because that was the place I told him I first loved him. Well since we were trying, I had ordered fortune cookies that said "You will soon have a new addition to your family." So as we sat down for dinner I asked him if you wanted a fortune cookie. He took one but had been talking to me about health care. I am trying to look interested and asked him what his fortune was. He continued talking and I asked him yet again what his fortune was. He read it and said, "How weird." I said mine said the same, there was a pause and then I said, Yes I'm pregnant. There shock and excitement at the same time.
We then went to tell the parents. I bought them each a picture frame with grand kids written at the bottom. When I gave it to Jeremy's mom, she looked at me and said what are you trying to tell me. She then preceded to scream with excitement. My mom was as excited but my dad just kept saying, "This is outstanding," as he does whenever he is excited.
So this is the story of how the Johnson family began.
