So if you haven't heard, Baby Johnson will be making his or her appearance later this year around November 24, 2010. I have been telling people the last 24 hours but its still seems so surreal to me. So here is the story thus far.
My favorite Christmas present last year was my wonderful husband telling me he was ready to start a family. I was so excited but I couldn't share with anyone because we wanted to keep it a secret. So the last 2 months with not luck, I had told myself I wasn't pregnant again this month so I wouldn't be disappointed. I decided to take a test to so I would know for sure and not wait anxiously just wondering. So I took the test and made myself do the dishes before I read the results. When I leaned over to read it, I couldn't believe what I saw. I screamed paced around the house and decided to go buy another test to be sure. Lo a behold that one was the same result.
So the next 3 hours we agonizing as I waited for Jeremy to get off work. I played it cool and asked him if he wanted to go Pei Wei for dinner. He was a bit surprised because I never suggest Chinese but went with it because it is his favorite food. I chose Pei Wei because that was the place I told him I first loved him. Well since we were trying, I had ordered fortune cookies that said "You will soon have a new addition to your family." So as we sat down for dinner I asked him if you wanted a fortune cookie. He took one but had been talking to me about health care. I am trying to look interested and asked him what his fortune was. He continued talking and I asked him yet again what his fortune was. He read it and said, "How weird." I said mine said the same, there was a pause and then I said, Yes I'm pregnant. There shock and excitement at the same time.
We then went to tell the parents. I bought them each a picture frame with grand kids written at the bottom. When I gave it to Jeremy's mom, she looked at me and said what are you trying to tell me. She then preceded to scream with excitement. My mom was as excited but my dad just kept saying, "This is outstanding," as he does whenever he is excited.
So this is the story of how the Johnson family began.
